I am on a business trip in New York. I use some spare time to walk from 45th street 3.7 miles down to One World Trade Center in splendid weather. I want to have the view from One World Observatory, want to visit the 9/11 memorial and the new train station.
There is quite a walk ahead of me but the weather is brilliant and so is the city.
I pass the Chrysler Building
Met Life Building and Grand Central Station
View back to the Chrysler Building
View back to Empire State Building
One World Trade Center in a distance
A Dainese shop on the other side
Almost there I see the new WTC station
One World Observatory
The view is great but the reflections from the glas screens spoil the view.
Big video shows in the lobby
Stories of the build process are being presented
On the observation deck. Unfortuantely completely closed with glass windows
Brilliant view to Manhattan
Empire State Building, 432 Park Avenue and Chrysler Building
A new condo building: 56 Leonard Street
Manhattan Bridge and Brooklyn Bridge
View from the observatory to train station and memorial
Liberty Island and Statue of Liberty
Video show in the elevator
A beautiful memorial to remember the terrorist attack to the towers of World Trade Center on 9/11 2001.
Pools replace the former towers
View into one of the pools
The WTC train station
The train station was rebuilt in spectacular architecture
In the connecting tunnels
and in the end
I got big blisters. I take the subway on my way back.
