Washington, May 2008

Stephan comes for a visit from Mexico City. I expected to have his whole family with me but his wife Christine was not able to come with the little one due to a serious but fortunately temporary sickness.

First Day

We started sightseeing in the city. Weather was so so and we walked around and did program almost as ususal.

Times Square of course is the starting point

Coming to the Metropolitan Museum of Art
On the way back we walk into FAO Schwarz
Then we pass the Museum of Modern Art and realize that the long line is for the free Friday Museum Night. So we get into the Museum and are amazed by both the building with it's interesting architecture and the exhibits.

Second Day

Next day we visit first the Statue of Liberty. The weather is still not great but ok.

Then we go through the Holland Tunnel to Manhattan
We continue the sightseeing with Grand Central Station
We see the Chrysler Building
Tom still likes the city
World Trade Center/Ground Zero
And of course Top of the Rock at the Rockefeller Center

Third Day

Next day we decide to go to Washington. The weather is supposed to be very nice and in this case the weather forecast was right.
